How to get Adobe Typekit fonts
I do not know if you already heard about Adobe’s platform Typekit. It is a marketplace for fonts. Adobe Typekit offers thousands of fonts in a great library on a subscription basis or to purchase. Check out their homepage if you want to know more.
The fonts are synchronized through the Adobe Creative Cloud Client. That means you cannot use them in other software like Word. To install your downloaded fonts, navigate to their folder:
Adobe Fonts Typekit
Windows:C:Users<USERNAME>AppDataRoamingAdobeCoreSyncpluginslivetyper
OSX:Macintosh HD/Users/YOURNAME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/plugins/livetype/.r/
Copy the content of the folder to a safe place on your computer, for example, the desktop. On Windows add the extension “.ttf” to the file. On OSX you don’t need to do that. Now you can install the fonts.
I wrote a simple program, which renames every font to her name and adds the right extension. You can download the source code here.
To use it just download the program here. Java must be installed. Navigate to the file RenameAdobeTypekitFonts.jar with your console. Start the program with the following command:
